Everything You Need To Know!
Registration is open to residents and non-residents of Ulmstead Estates. We offer two categories of membership: standard membership (must be a member in good standing of the Ulmstead Swim Club) or high-school-swim-team-only membership (for rising 9-12th graders who are not members of the Ulmstead Swim Club, who join Ulmstead Swim Team and have no privileges with Ulmstead Swim Club). All swimmers' families (including the high-school-swim-team-only swimmers) will be assigned volunteer assignments. Descriptions of volunteer assignments are available here. Each family is usually given assignments at 2 meets/season, though the specifics depend on the needs of the team in a given season. Once assigned, these are your responsibility. If you are unable to fulfill the obligations, it is your responsibility to find or hire a replacement volunteer. Information about hiring teens to help you fulfill your volunteer responsibilities when you cannot do so can be found here.
We hold practices daily, Monday through Friday during the swim season. Swimmers should be in swim suit and ready to go with goggles (if they use them) prior to the start of their age group's practice time. Swim fins are a required part of practice gear, though there is a supply of extra fins for those occasions when your swimmer may forget to bring their own.
Swimmers who attend practice every day in a week are awarded with an ice cream ticket for being a Practice Warrior! Teens who are interested in being Spirit Leaders, to support the younger swimmers, can learn more here.
For meets, swimmers should be in the appropriate racing suit and Ulmstead swim cap. Caps and suits are available for purchase Here.
