This Week & Thank You!
Good morning,
I hope everyone enjoyed the swim meet and Father's Day! Thank you to the many volunteers who made the meet a success! Here are updates for this week:
1. Practices Every Morning. Practices are every morning this week - see the times. Swimmers should bring their own fins every day (please don't take fins that don't belong to you). There is practice on the Juneteenth holiday for those who want to attend.
2. By Tuesday at 4pm, Declare Your Swimmer for Saturday's 6/22 Meet at Southdown. Go into the schedule, click on the green "Meet Entry" on the right, and indicate if they are swimming or not. This is critical so Liz can prepare the heat sheets and so we don't have to contact you individually. Liz will send out meet information in a couple of days.
3. We Need a 2nd Half Timer for This Saturday, 6/22. Please respond if you can cover it. If you volunteered for this Saturday's meet, an email will be sent to you this week.
4. THANK YOU! Thank you to ALL of the volunteers from Saturday's meet - it was the best run Ulmstead meet I have attended! An extra thank you to people who stepped up to play official roles which enabled the meet to happen. This includes:
Volunteer Coordinators: Cory Cosgrove, Shubhangi Mehta, and Molly Wood
Lead Official: Beth Rue
Starters: Meaghan Hakala and Gurpreet Kaur with support from Dave Thompson (they rocked it)
Meet Prep and IT: Liz Norton
Clerk of Course: April Nathan
Stroke & Turn Officials: Asa Moos, Evan Patrick, Gigi Bennett, Katharyn Wolski
All of the timers!
Lane Organizers & Kid Finder: The Mahan's and Kelly McVey among others
GASL League Rep: Jenn Womble
Concessions: Maureen Coelho & team (including Brad Kelly for jumping in at the last minute)
And thank you to Lindsey Blades and Stephanie Walsh for making sure swimmers had their caps and shirts!
Thank you to our gold sponsors –The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital at Mercy (JP & Beth Rue) and the Donut Shack - and bronze sponsor Reinheimer Orthodontics!
Go Ducks!
Tanya and Karin
